I translate academic research into real-life solutions. For companies. For individuals. For positive, lasting change. As a clinical professor of consumer science in the School of Human Ecology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I teach popular classes on well-being and the intersection of money and love. In my outreach work, I translate these concepts into guidebooks, media outreach and presentations on the national and international lecture circuit.

My research explores what works—and what doesn’t—on the path to human thriving. I evaluate existing programs – and create digital/analog exercises that emerge from the research. Still, behavior change is hard. That’s why my programs are built from small-steps exercises designed to demystify big concepts. From teaching to TV, from keynote speeches to corporate and non-profit consulting, I’m blending academic rigor with authentic purpose. I’d love to work with you, too.

A sense of purpose in life is correlated with better health, better relationships, longer life and even more money in your pocket. Put that research into action. This talk gives you a roadmap.

Three big questions we all must ask on our journey to purposeful living: What matters most to you? Why does it matter? How can you make it happen? This guidebook, focused on young-adults, asks the big questions we all need to answer.
